Ordinary Extraordinary
Take a moment now to plan what you will say to God at the end of the day today.
"God uses ordinary people for extraordinary purposes." - Alistair Begg
When you give an account to God as to how you spent each moment today, remember, it is in the ordinary where God works the extraordinary. Every moment of every day is infused with special meaning, purpose, and dynamism - where temporal time is pierced by eternal significance. As the sun sets and shadows stretch toward the night, keep in mind, your shadow is cast toward the future where the sun will rise again tomorrow.
God's invisible attributes are clearly seen in what has been made... The extraordinary is embedded within the ordinary!
With this in mind, take a moment now to plan what you will say to God at the end of the day today. Give the Master of all days an account for every moment of your day.
Write down your answer to this question from God:
My dear child, what did you do with the moments I gave you today?
If you answer that question everyday for a week, you'll see what seems to be ordinary transformed into the extraordinary!
Prayer:
Lord, help me to number my days and cultivate a heart of wisdom. I resolve to give you a good report that delights your heart at the end of today. I want my moments to be eternally significant. If it is doing laundry, washing dishes, paying taxes, answering emails, making a repair, driving to work, making dinner alone, changing the twentieth diaper, talking to an angry customer, meeting with my boss, checking the mail, reading the news, tying my shoes, brushing my teeth, playing a sport, fixing a car, calling an old friend, or saying farewell... then, let me see the eternal significance within the seemingly mundane activities.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
